Political philosophy, also known as political theory, is the study of topics such as politics, liberty, justice, property, rights, law, and the enforcement of laws by authority: what they are, if they are needed, what makes a government legitimate, what rights and freedoms it should protect, what form it should take, what the law is, and what duties citizens owe to a legitimate government, if any, and when it may be legitimately overthrown, if ever.
Akarsh Thakur (born on 9th April, 1962 in Varanasi, UP) is a teacher of philosophy. He had earlier taught at BHU, Varanasi. He achieved his degrees M.A. (Philosophy) and PhD (Moral Values of Hinduism in Veda) from BHU, Varanasi. He has specialized in Indian Philosophy, Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. He has authored more than five books and over twenty five research papers and articles published in national and international journals. He has travelled widely teaching Indian philosophy.
